Helping me get more Exercise!

No doubt about it -- most of us tend to be on the lazy side. We have good intentions, like this kitty who was going to do some exercises; but we fall asleep on the job!


Looking at this picture made me laugh ~~ but then I got to thinking......(one of those brilliant thought moments) "I" could use my weights while I'm laying on my bed, propped up with pillows, watching TV. So I got out my 5# weight and started doing exercises with my arms. As muscles need to rest, I will do them every other night. Now show me an "older" woman who doesn't need help with her arms!

emoticon Purposely get up from that computer every 30 minutes and go DO SOMETHING at the other end of your house! I don't care if it is putting a load of laundry into the washer, or going potty (use the one furthest away) or going in to make the bed. DO something! Then walk through your house to see if there is some little thing that needs to be picked up or cleaned. Gotcha!

The whole purpose of this little scheme is to add steps to your daily routine. You'd be surprised how it can add up. Yesterday I tried it and had 3000 steps in before noon!

    Great pictures!
Yes doing some exercises in bed is a great way to gt a few more in... I do 5 mins of yoga stretching before I get up, then get in my workout clothes and do a yoga video.
The stretching first things helps me get out of bed easier... it loosens up the joints :)

    Love those kitty pics! They are so good at doing "nothing" or lots of "something"! hehe!
Love your idea for doing the ST arms in bed! I just may try that! Every other day/night is just right! Thanks, buddy! Maybe your kitty will help you? My pooch would, but 30 pounds is a bit much for me, I think! lol
Well, I'm packing it in early today. Too much sitting around with the sick hubby today. Gonna fold DS's clothes and then stretch out and "pump some iron"!!!

    definitely good ideas. I always go upstairs to the bathroom and I go from computer to computer as they are all so slow to load. I like watching my FitBit go higher and higher.

    When I was still working I used to do 10 "somethings" when I'd go to use the bathroom. I also had a half gallon bottle of water on a shelf by my desk and wouldn't leave work until I'd finished it all. Since I was drinking so much I ended up taking several potty breaks during the day and would do 10 jumping jacks, wall push-ups, squats, etc. each time. No one ever noticed the extra minute or so I was gone and by the end of the day I'd done quite a bit.
