Tractor repair day

Friday, May 16, 2014

As usual, dad's john deere lawn tractor needs repair.. Belts, tires,etc.. meanwhile, my craftsman is ready to go..Just need to drop the battery in and give it a drink of gas and when the water level goes down a foot or two, we can mow!

Still very cold, furnace still on.. hoping to turn it off by july fourth...

What a difference. Living in the west. You had a tough winter. Hope next year isn't as bad.

I don't know I bought a John Deere Lawn tractor in 2003 and it is still using the original battery, never charged it or anything. I have a friend who works at a John Deere dealership and he is amazed, he keeps it tuned up but had never done anything but tune it up , change the oil, and sharpen the blades. I guess I got a good one!

Lol.... They don't make a John Deere tractor mower like they use too..
We bought one after a bran new Huskvarna blew up after 6 weeks. To back our old snapper which is 23 years old and still going strong. But that John Deere has been nothing but trouble. Biggest problem is the belt keeps coming off every single time you stop. And yes, it is the right belt. Even the pro's can't figure out the problem. But it is one of those things that was not covered under the warranty. It was never heard of. But my husband and I both have agreed that the next mower will be either another snapper or a craftsman from Sears. we have never had problems with those brands. emoticon

I know what you mean. DH always has to do through his big lawn mower, the little walk behind I use for clean up started on the first pull, and it has sat since last year. Got the whole lawn mowed once and it needs it again, but it was only 28 this morning, and not mowing with winter coat on.
