Going to San Francisco
Friday, May 16, 2014
I am making plans to spend part of the summer in San Francisco. I have a friend who lives there and when she goes on vacation she invites me to come stay at her apartment and care for her cat. That means 3 weeks in midtown SF in a rent-free apartment (with snuggly kitty) starting in late August. Isn't that a great arrangement?
I'm including this map to show you my fabulous location. I'm one block from California St. and Hyde. The cable car connects me with just about anywhere I want to go. I will have a transit pass for bus and cable cars so I'm all set.
Exercise is easy in San Francisco
I can take transit down to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero and walk to Fisherman's Wharf. A lot of steps and beautiful scenery.
When the weather doesn't cooperate I can walk the labyrinth at Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill.
As you know, walking on San Francisco hills can be quite a challenge. I'm taking my walking poles along.
When I get tired of hills I can always go to Golden Gate Park.
I'll be able to eat well because I'll have a kitchen to cook in AND a brand new Trader Joe has just opened on California Street. Wow! This is going to work out well.
