So much since I took time to linger here. First, morning walks with J have resumed. You might think that recovering from sleep depravity would be incompatible with getting up at 4:30 in the A.M. to walk a quick (relatively) mile, and you would be right. My part-time schedule went all over the place with the arrival of spring and all the things that retail workers need time off form work for (including Baby Girl's college graduation! Congrats Baby Girl) OK, she doesn't ready my blog. But I'm proud of her just the same.
I did get some nice stretches of sleep along the way, but mostly I just struggle along with 4-6 hours per night. All of that is about to improve, as the big gaping hole in my finances has been sufficiently filled in that I can leave the part-time job. If you have the skills and are looking for work, I highly recommend the Geek Squad precinct in Lancaster, PA. It is a great place to work, but I have a full-time job and I'm exhausted from working two. I just need to convince DW that she needs to start accepting the offers of rides she gets from co-workers and I'll be free to start consistently getting a decent amount of sleep.
The other downside to the part-time job was the 4-8 hours of standing on a concrete floor and its effect on my poor arthritic knees. In just six and a half hours, that will all be behind me. Hopefully, by next week, I should have some flexibility in my knees restored, as well as some relief from my sleep deficit and a gradual return to "normal", whatever that is.
So how will I celebrate this milestone? Tomorrow night I'm going to play with my puppy a bit and then take a nice long nap before I have to head out to bring the girls home from work. Saturday, I'm going to sleep in. I'm not "planning" anything, but weather permitting, I expect to find myself mowing my lawn and riding my bike at some point. Then, more sleep. Sunday afternoon, I'm going to take another nap. (Are you sensing a theme here?) Monday, I'll bring activity back into the plan, but first, rest.
BTW, Sparkpeople...can we not get the word "blog" added to the spell checker?
