This week for the Aspire & Inspire team we were asked to blog about two questions. 1) Do you have plans to travel anywhere or plans to go visit anyone this summer? 2) How do you plan to keep you fitness and eating right going while you travel?
As for the first question, yes, my hubby and I plan to go to Illinois the summer. Hubby has an aunt and uncle in Springfield that we plan to visit. If money and time allows we plan to go on up to north-western Illinois. Hubby was born and raised, until he was 13 or so in the Galesburg area. He has lots of family in that area. Most of the family is from his momís side of the family. However, he does have cousins and other relatives from his dadís side of the family in that region of Illinois too.
How do I plan to keep my fitness and eating right while I travel? Well, itís only a 6 hour drive from where we live to Springfield so I plan on bringing healthy snacks with us like fruit or nuts or turkey jerky (depending upon which phase of the FMD Iím on when we go) and finding some place to eat on our route before we go. Thankfully I can research places where we can eat and where we can get something to eat without taking too much out of our travels. We will be traveling with our birds (2 cockatiels) so we canít take too much time out for eating. As for fitness while we travel, we can make several stops to get gas and I can take a little walk around while hubby puts gas in the car. Like I said, itís only a 6 hour drive from where we live to Springfield, Illinois. We are really looking forward to seeing them. The last time we saw them was almost 7 years ago and I was much heavier at that time. Hubbyís aunt recently fell and broke her hip too so we are anxious to see them. They are both blind and live independently!! So, I really look up to them for not letting their being blind get in their way!!
