started tracking food

Thursday, May 15, 2014

Since I started again, have been tracking workouts, and exercise, but not food. This is my 3rd day of tracking food. Don't know why I didn't get started sooner. Find it pretty amazing, as my calorie count has been at the low side of suggested calorie range for all three days. Maybe my looking at lots of sparkpeople stuff had given me some guidance on what I should actually be doing. Or being on Spark People is just magic. Plan on keeping up with both. Looks like a good thing to do.

During fast break, I learned so much about the choices I was making. I just tracked honestly for 3 weeks. Maybe I'm a slow learner. At the end of the day, I'd look back and see what my choices cost me and think about what changes I could make. Plain steamed rice not fried rice. Less carbs and more protein.
Tracking also taught me that eating too little was as bad as eating too much. If I ate too little I was putting myself at risk for overeating or uncontrolled late night eating.
Remember, we are looking at creating a personal eating plan that we can live with for the rest of our lives.
And don't be surprised. SP is magic!
