Do I think actors deserve the recognition they receive in our society?

I believe the actors who receive recognition for doing good, as far as helping others by using their celebrity status, is a very good thing. Some though may go too far, like wanting it out there where everyone can see 'what I've done!' But, some do it because they really care about their charity or whatever they are working on. Sean Penn has been the bad boy in the past, but he has done a lot of volunteer work for the good, not for show. So has Angelina Jolie.

Then again there are those who get recognition because of the news they make, causing disturbances, drunk, anger, as toward the Paparazzi. (although sometimes the paparazzi eggs the celebs on to get the 'reaction' they want).

Well, actors put themselves out there so they're kind of asking for it. I am always pleased when I see them doing good without the hype - and I certainly have sympathy for the aggressive nature of the papparazzi. It's a real tightrope!

emoticon Courti! emoticon Very astute observations! You got both sides of the story in there. I like your balanced, unbiased approach to the exercise! I remember seeing the tears in Angelina Jolie's eyes when she did one of the interviews about her Ambassador work - perhaps it was a commercial. I just read an article on the internet about how people still perceive Paris Hilton as overexposed, though she hasn't really been on any magazine covers, or even much in magazines, for ages. I actually read this when I was doing a search for "bad girl" sometime actress Paris Hilton and found she didn't even come up in the suggestions - wow! It was all Paris Jackson and other Paris people and TV shows. I guess both the "fame" and reputation follow you forever!

I think it's difficult to be both a celebrity and a teenager / young adult. There's a lot of acting out to be expected. A lot of these bad kids grow into decent adults while others don't make it.
