Support Needed!

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

I just turned 45, work a full time job, and I am a mother of 3 boys ages 16, 14, and 5. Needless to say, I am always busy with their activities and need all the support that I can get in my weight loss battle. I have been over weight most of my adult life, but since my husband has a serious heart condition, I know it is even more important for me to be around for my kids should something happen to him. First step - lose A LOT of weight! So - I begin my journey - any support would be appreciated!

You've come to the RIGHT place! I know that emoticon because YOU are emoticon
Take a few small steps to begin (and have fast results) and keep moving forward!

    1. Toss the carbonated beverages
    2. Drink water -- 8-10 glasses per day! (Or 4-5 bottled waters)
    3. Walk around the block 1X per day
    4. Add one fresh veggie / fruit per week to your daily intake

Before you know it, you'll be well on your way to a healthier you! emoticon

emoticon Good Luck on your weight loss journey. You can do anything you put your mind too. I work two jobs, got to school and I have a 5 year old, I know what its like to have a crazy schedule. BUT, WE CAN DO THIS :) Tonight as my sons t-ball practice I walked around the parking lot. It wasn't a lot but it was something. Just remember go at your pace and what works for you :) Sparkpeople is here for you

You are in the right place. Many here will give their support if you just ask for it. Some will suggest extreme dieting, but most say 1-2 ponds a week will pay off in the long run. My thing is to try and burn more than I take in. Keep within calorie range and find an exercise you can enjoy.

Hi! I've got a new baby, so while I'm not near as busy as you, I certainly understand trying to eat healthy between a million other things. Yesterday I sat at a medicentre for 2 hours waiting to see a doctor for my daughter and, instead of eating the healthy chicken marinating at home, I went to DQ at 8pm. You & I can both do this! emoticon

Congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthier life. You're setting such a good example for your family. I hope you've thought of some ways to treat yourself (besides food emoticon ) when you reach your goals: flowers, phone call with a friend, new nail polish -- I know you're going to have some things to celebrate soon!
