Making lemonade

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

My dear Spark Friends, As the old saying goes, " when God gives you lemons, make lemonade" As many of you know I have been pretty lax on being here as much as I should be for the last two months. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and I have been running to the Dr.s a lot lately. Yesterday I had an appointment and we were given our options on how to fight this disease. Considering my age we have opted for a bi-lateral mastectomy which will happen on the 27th of this month. This is as close to lemonade as I can get at this time and I continue to stay upbeat and confident in my belief that God is merciful and everlasting.

Thank you, dear friends, for all of your prayers and please continue to send them my way. One can never have enough! Love you all

Oh, Lee - when you needed additional testing I suspected it could be something like this. You are right. God IS merciful and everlasting. You will not be alone on a single step of this journey. And we will continue to keep you in our prayers.

I will continue to keep you in prayer. I am sorry that you are having to go through this, my friend. Don't worry about having been lax. You concentrate on fighting this cruel disease. We will be here pulling for you.

I am a breast cancer survivor and had to have a mastectomy. Too advanced for a lumpectomy so the choice was out of my hands. This was 1993 at the age of 45. I will be praying for you and here if you want to talk about what to expect.
