Day 961... a nice day

Monday, May 12, 2014

I spent most of the day in the company of my dog. I did go out and get some more blood work taken care of, and went for a run, but most of the day I was either walking the dog or playing with him or cuddling with him. I think he is a happy dog.

The visiting nurse was supposed to come today, but didn't show up. When I called the office they said she was scheduled for tomorrow, but no one had called to inform me of this fact. I get frustrated with the office of the agency that coordinates these things. That frustration does me no good, things are what they are.

I have to go see my friend, Peter, sometime before Thursday. He depends on me to trim his cat's claws. Peter is about 80 years old, and his cat weighs about 24 pounds (twice Cooper's weight!), so Peter is unable to pick him up. So first I have to catch the cat, who does not like me and hides when he sees me coming. It is always such a production. I have to chase the cat for about 10 minutes first. At least Peter holds the cat while I do the trimming. If I don't do it though the cat scratches Peter quite badly. Sigh. The things we do for our friends.

Yikes...trimming cat's claws is tough...I remember when I did it for our kitty cats and I was always so afraid I'd cut their little blood vein that runs down through the nail. Poor kitty...he knows you are there to make him squirm...but you are a good friend to do this for Peter. emoticon emoticon

Sounds like a good day other than the frustration with the nurse. I much prefer the company of my dog to that of most people! emoticon Good luck with the cat! emoticon
