How'd I get so far behind in my 100 Happy Days? Time flew by this weekend, and it was wonderful!
Day 29 -- The lilacs at my house are in full bloom. I love them and they remind me of my Mom, since they were her favorite flower.
Day 30 -- May 10, 1969, Duane called me very late in the day to ask me to go to our Junior/Senior Banquet-Prom that same night. I never regretted saying Yes! Saturday was the 45th anniversary of our very first date!
Du bought me an orchid plant and gave me a note saying he hoped the orchid plant lasts longer than the orchid corsage he got for me on our first date.
We grilled steak and veggies for dinner that night and it was delicious. I say "we," but Du does the grilling. I do the prep work however, and that is why I say "WE."
Youngest son Chris took us out for lunch at Olive Garden. Love their soup and salad! The weather continued to be gorgeous, and we spent a lot of time outside, Du worked in the garden, and we bought some new flowers to plant in the yard and display on the porch. Juno took time to smell the new flowers!
After Chris left for work late in the day, I walked in the house, and this box was sitting on my kitchen table!
I had been wanting a Kitchen Aid mixer, and all three of my sons (and two daughters-in-law) got me one for Mother's Day!!!
Day 31 -- Mother's Day. How I could not be grateful for my FOUR wonderful grandchildren, that my wonderful sons and daughters-in-law have given me. They make me so very happy!
We had tickets for "Wicked" being presented in Omaha Sunday afternoon, so after a quick stop at the hospital (Brand new grandson, Noah, spent Sat. afternoon and night in the hospital, due to severe jaundice--but he improved rapidly and got to go back home Sunday), we headed to Omaha and I finally got to see the award-winning musical. It was most entertaining. Du & I stopped for dinner at one of the many Italian steakhouses which are prevalent in Omaha.
(On Facebook, where I post for my 100 Happy Days, daily, I am saving "Wicked," for my 'Happy' event for tomorrow!)
Day 32 -- Today, I backtracked to Sat. night (for my 'Happy') when we went out for dinner with my middle son, Brady, and his family for another early Mother's Day celebration. Granddaughter Mia sang "Let It Go," for me! I have always loved to sing, I still do it all the time. I'm not very good and my family doesn't enjoy it much, but I love hearing my little granddaughters sing, and they both love to sing like me.....unfortunately....like me, they are not great singers, but still so sweet to hear their little voices in song.
It was a wonderfully busy weekend, filled with family, eating out, and celebrations. I am so thankful little Noah is back on the road to wellness, reading on the Internet what excess bilirubin can do to an infant is scary, so I'm glad they got the level lowered. He is a beautiful baby, one week old today! I am very blessed! #100HappyDays
