I'm not going to lie, Mother's Day is difficult for me. I'm not with either of my kids. I called Frank but had to speak to ex because Frank can't talk any more. Of course, ex talked about himself the entire time. And I'm missing my little red-haired bundle of attitude like crazy.
I did, however, have a few good things happen, all online. I had a lot of "conversation" with my adopted sister and her kids on Facebook. And on Twitter, it got really interesting. Chef Jet Tila from L.A., who judges on Cutthroat Kitchen, put a "favorite" on one of my Tweets. That means he told me he read and liked my Tweet! It's the second "favorite" I've gotten from him.
But the one that really blew me away was when I replied to a Tweet from Chef John Besh. He's in a new show called Hungry Investors, with John Taffer of Bar Rescue (probably my favorite guilty pleasure) and Chef Tiffany Derry (who's been on a few Bar Rescue episodes, and who's a respected chef and restaurateur in her own right.
I replied to Chef Besh's Tweet saying I'm looking forward to tonight's episode of Hungry Investors. And Chef Derry REPLIED and said (word for word), "Thanks, honey. We love you!" I almost fell off my chair! But I Tweeted back right away and told her I love all of them as well.
Crazy as this sounds, it feels like my name (if not my face or anything else) is getting some notice in the culinary world. That makes me dizzy!
Okay, time to collect myself for work tomorrow. Oh, goodie...
