Today was a nice Mother's Day. Husband and Daughter made breakfast and coffee, and they got me a HUGE, 15" Lodge cast iron skillet. I have an obsession with cast iron cookware and have quite a collection, including some antique pieces that belonged to my great-grandmother (and possibly even her mother). I've been wanting that skillet for a while, so I was very excited! After breakfast, Husband and I went on a 5.5 mile bike ride. I got a new bike seat yesterday and I LOVE IT. My bike is great. I like it so much better than my other one. I'm glad I spent the money on it. We came home, made a light lunch, and watched The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug...which I picked up yesterday while I was out buying new weights and whatnot, sort of as a Mother's Day gift to myself. Another obsession of mine is Lord of the Rings.
Husband made dinner tonight. He cooked beef ribs in his smoker ALL day and they were incredible. He made some with a sugary BBQ sauce and some without. I tried just a few bites of the sweet rib, and then had a non-sweet rib. They were SO GOOD. He also grilled squash, avocado, pineapple, and mushroom. I drank wine, relaxed, watched movies and tv all day. It was absolute HEAVEN. I like keeping busy the rest of the time, because now when I have a lazy day in front of the tv, I don't feel guilty because I'm not doing it every day...just sometimes.
Anyway, I'm tired and here's today's run-down:
Breakfast: eggs with cheese, turkey bacon, one small biscuit with cheese, coffee with Truvia and sugar-free French vanilla creamer.
Lunch: half an apple with peanut butter, carrot sticks, celery, homemade hummus.
Dinner: beef rib (plus a few small bites), grilled squash, grilled avocado, grilled pineapple, grilled mushroom, wine, berry La Croix.
Snacks: two medjool dates, two bites of dried papaya, one bite of dried mango, nachos (tortilla chips with Mexican blend cheese, salsa, sour cream, hot sauce), wine, one sip of root beer.
Activity: 5.5 mile bike ride, 45 minutes.
Looking forward to using my new weights tomorrow, and also looking forward to a new Jillian Michaels workout. FEEL THE BURN!
