I had an amazing mother! She nearly died when I was born and was hospitalized the first 11 months of my life! I was born weighing 3 lbs. and 10 oz. and not expected to live myself. She was so sick for most of my life. All I ever prayed was "God, please don't let my mother die on me". When I was 10 years old, I came home from school to find an ambulance taking her away! She had many strokes throughout my life, the first one when she was 35 years old. In the midst of her illness, she cooked, she cleaned, canned, took me to church, helped me with my homework, taught me how to read, sing, sew, baked cookies, sent me to camp, I could go on and on! Well, she lived to see me graduate college, marry and give her two beautiful granddaughters. She lived a full life as best she could. She stayed with me until I was 50 years old!
Yes, I miss her, but I'm not sad. I'm amazed because as I look at my two beautiful daughters, and three sweet granddaughters, I realize something. I have become her. all the love, grace, and wisdom that she had s now in me! That's amazing!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL!
