rainy day,keeping kids occupied(photo heavy)

Saturday, May 10, 2014

well as today is a very rainy day and ayyub had several nose bleeds yesturday i thought it might be an idea to have a day indoors.which is not a bad thing except my kids get bored easily and when they get bored they get bostrious which one of the neighbours in the flats below us(notice he is not the one directly below us)irritates and he then complains.it doesnīt help that he is also racist and has lotfi on several occassion he should go back to the place he comes froms.up to now he hasnīt had the guts to say it to me,.i am just waiting for him to say it,lol.anyway back to blog.the kids decided they wanted to celerbrate mothers day today instead of tomorrow.in over words zakariya and ayman wanted to eat cake, lol.i agreed as i am hoping tomorrow will be a better day than today and we can go on a nice walk and picnic so fingers crossed for that.zakariya also decided they wanted to cook the midday meal as well. so here is what they made.

zakariya mixing the ground meat with the spices

forming the burgers and also meatballswhich are for another meal which i will serve with a homemade tomatoe sauce and speghetti.

ayyub and ayyman prepareing the carrot and apple slaw

the finished carrot and apple slaw

zakariya ingrediants for his salsa sauce

when mixed in food processor

ayyub prepareing the lettuce

finished midday meal

what i had.

notice i had no meat or chips.then a few hours later we had some of the motherīs day cake that zakariya had made for me.it is a chocolate and orange cheesecake.there are no photos of the kids zakariya making it as he wanted to surprize me.

from the side

and it really does taste as good as it looks.ayyub and ayman i think have made homemade paralines for tomorrow judgeing what stuff are missing out of the kitchen cupboards .tomorrow will tell.all you mothers with young kids out there i would recomend you let your kids help you in the kitchen from an early age so when they are older they can do what my kids have done.it needs alot of patience and you end up with more mess to clean up but i think it is worth it in long run.what say you?
thanks once again for taking the time to read my blog and a double thank you if you take the time to reply.to all you mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers out there have a great mothers day tomorrow.take care and keep smiling.

OMG Karen your kids are so cute and I think it's just grand that they have a willing spirit to cook for you. I agree kids need to help out in the kitchen as that's how they learn. You're raising them well.

So sweet of them to help you cook and surprise you with a cake! Love that. I wish there was more time for us to cook together at home but always stress, stress, stress. The children study all day and then they either go to etude until just before bedtime or they have tons of homework. I feel sorry for them, as I feel they are missing out on a lot. But school here is really tough..!

Happy Mother's Day! If I'm ever blessed enough to have a child or children I will definitely take your advice about having them help out from the time they are young!

Congrats on having such cute and sweet children!!!

    Happy Mothers Day,

Good on you for daring to get your kids involved in cooking. Looks like they are doing an amazing job. Sorry to hear about those in the apt below as kids are just kids and it is hard for them too be couped up inside for too long. Anyway enjoy the treats lovingly prepared to help you celebrate
