First, I must say I am really happy today. The scale gave me a little wink to let me know I am moving in the right direction. I have a million things to do but, I have a plan of action and I already got my morning walk run out of the way. It is was a little cloudy this morning with that it's gonna rain any minute sky but the temperature was perfectly cool for working up a sweat.
As I was walk/running, a few thoughts came to mind where I had to challenge myself to change the conversation I was having in my head:
I can't believe I can't even run to that next pole - A least you are moving and that's a lot more than you did 3 weeks ago
This time last year, my speed was so much better- Your pace has increased steadily since you started up again
I hate walking when I really want to be a runner again- Every time you stop running for a recovery walk, envision your self running in perfect form.
Challenging myself to speak kindly and positively is a constant struggle but, I get excited when I remember to flip that ol' tired I'm not there yet script into HONEY YOU ARE MOVING AND GROOVING! Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell don't have anything on my fierce stomp up that next hill. You Go Girl is the attitude of the day
