They had a quiz for us to do by table groups, and we won it, got a couple of dishes of suckers for our table. We had clues and we had to figure out what flowers they were talking about.... Well, my friend picked me up and we went to the class today. A lady called and got security to bring me a wheelchair and Brenda pushed me around, and so did the prof, and one of the other students, and some oriental guy we didnt' even know, and another man of color walked by and said I hope you get better soon..... Wasn't that nice!! But then when we went to an office to register for the class, I was speaking, and the lady there looked over my head (ignored me) and spoke only to Brenda. So, I asked Security about getting a Handicapped Pass, but they didn't do it, I had asked 2 Security guys and I got 2 different answers, and the office called another number and the lady said to go to my doctor, get a letter and then take it to Access Nova Scotia (govt office) and pay for a pass.. Ask me how frustrated I was getting, not to mention poor Brenda pushing me up and down long and short ramps, it was a long trip.
I saw an Accessability Centre as we went to the office, so I asked Brenda if we could go back there cuz I wanted to register a complaint. When we got there, a lady was just leaving, and it appeared to be closed for lunch. But she saw us looking and she said she could open the door, even though she was just leaving for lunch. So I told her my predicament and though she didn't know what to do (a student), she typed up a paper saying I had a Temporary Parking Pass due to a broken ankle and signed it with the name of the centre. So, Brenda needed to get lunch, so after she went to the car, I wheeled up to Security and told them and showed them the pass and they showed us where to park close to building etc., so hopefully it will all be OK. Will make it much easier (I hope) for parking close to building and my mobility issue...
Anyway, prof was happy that I had doubled his class size, he didn't know he was getting Brenda too. And the other two were both students from previous course. They were much more friendly today, with that other guy (who had been charged with being an abusive nurse) not there... Very interesting!!! And is Brenda ever keen now!! This sounds like it will be a very interesting course. Also, it might help Brenda in that we will be doing our project together, as a pair. She's been doing her family ancestry for 25 years, and prof will bring us a brand new book that we can use for major research and we're going to start our research there. I just hope she gets the other course finished and out of the way. I got an email from that prof today and he said I got 82 on the other course...
Yes, I know I had the wheelchair and I didn't do all the work, but boy, was I tired... I bet Brenda is in bed already, she did all the hard work.
Bunny hat, is probably a teen's size... will have to take pic and post...
