Cinco de Miler

Thursday, May 08, 2014

Last Saturday I did a new race length. Five miles. It was great to feel ready for something longer.

The temp was around 70 and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, it was perfection!

My time was 1:10. I finished 31 out of 39 for females 40 - 44. And I was 394 out of 453 runners overall.

Know what? I am THRILLED with that. 15 months ago, I wouldn't have been running at all, so even though I'm slow, I am out there busting my ass and doing my best.

Next month I'm going to do a 10K ... 6.2 miles. Working my way up to that first half marathon in September. Whoo Hoo!

    emoticon Awesome finish.

It is great that you are taking it up slowly. If you are not a member already, join the 13.1 Half Marathon team. Great info.

Also, we have been talking a lot on that team about doing a 10M as a warm up to the HM, if you can find one, it is a great distance to train for.

Good Luck!
