Updates are few and far between due to work and school. I finished my class over the weekend, so I have some (very little :) free time.

Lent went ok, I hung in there with the candy, but didn't with the wine. Had some stressful days and it helps me sleep. I stayed the same weight.

After Easter, I stumbled upon a low carb book by Dana Carpender, and her information made a lot of sense. I had done Low Carb several years ago, and remembered that not only was I successful, but I felt better eating that way. I've always thought that I had issues with wheat. Then I came across a book called Wheat Belly and was really surprised with what Dr. Davis had to say. So, I'm following a low carb eating plan right now. I stayed the same weight for the 2 weeks that I was on induction, so I tried a Fat Fast (Dana Carpender Cook Book), and I lost 6 lbs and and inch off every measurement in 3.5 days. That is the lowest weight I've been in 3 years.

I've seriously thought that I had thyroid issues, due to the effort that I put in an the results that I get from getting healthy. The other morning, I was giving my cat her medicine (she is hypothyroid), and it dawned on me that every morning, I crush her pill, put it into her food with my finger and then "rinse" my finger and wipe it with a paper towel. It got me thinking about if this could be causing me issues. I looked the medicine up online, and AH HA, I was handling it incorrectly. You should wash with soap and water if you handle it in any way! Then I called the Vet to see when she started this medicine. AH HA, it was 3 months prior to my hot flashes starting and my weight issues.

I've started really paying attention to how I handle the medicine, and I'm hoping this is the answer to my problems. I am truly at wits end!

    Great detective work! Losing weight for me was getting my hormones working right so that I could maximize my metabolism. Jillian Michaels book "Master Your Metabolism" is a great resource.
