San Antonio - World Walking Day 10K

Monday, May 05, 2014

It was supposed to be a 10K but we kept detouring to look at interesting things we passed. There were a lot of fantastic churches and we stepped inside to look.

The walk route included the Riverwalk which was nice a shaded and cool.

We went inside the Menger Hotel which is where Teddy Roosevelt was recruiting men for his Rough Riders. They had items from that era on display.

We passed lots of interesting stuff but I thought St. Marks Episcopal Church where LBJ and Ladybird were married was pretty neat.

We went inside the Public Library to see this glass "Fiesta Tower" by Chihuly.

We also went inside San Fernando Cathedral to see the remains of the Alamo Heroes.

I didn't realize there were so many cool things to look at in SA other than the what I've seen. Thanks for sharing.
