Well the day has finally come, and in a few hours from now I will board a plane and begin my 50 hour journey to India. The itinerary is Minneapolis to Newark, Newark to Mumbai (19 hours), Mumbai to Hyderabad, Hyderabad to Vijayawada, and then a one-hour drive from Vijayawada to our final destination, Ventrapragada, where I will teach Pastors about teaching the Bible, and where I will learn from them about many things. Our team goes as servants, not superiors.
The one hitch in the get along is that I'm still quite sick. But the Lord really encouraged me Saturday morning when I came across Galatians 4:13. The Apostle Paul wrote, "You know it was BECAUSE OF a bodily ailment that I preached the gospel to you at first, and though my condition was a trial to you, you did not scorn or despise me, but received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus."
Point being, the Lord is in control of everything, and he actually uses everything--even sickness--to accomplish his purposes. And so I go in faith, believing that the Lord has a plan and provision for me, and for those I'm going to serve. He will work all things together for his glory and our good, in his own time and way.
Alrighty then, time to eat, read, and go! See you all in two weeks.
