BLC 25: Goals and Fitness Test

I'm currently participating in the 25th round of the BLC (Biggest Loser Challenge) here on SP.

For the next twelve weeks, teams will be competing in challenges focused on nutrition, fitness, as well as emotional/mental well being.

Right now we're in the middle of a weekend challenge and 2 items on our list are to blog about our goals for the next 12 weeks as well as the results of our fitness test.

BLC Goals:
- Lose 12 pounds during this challenge by staying within my calorie range and exercising for at least 30 minutes 4 times a week.

-Participate in every challenge that is presented.

-Make friends by participating in the group chat threads and checking in on their progress.

Earlier this afternoon I completed the fitness test. We were to do as many crunches and pushups for one minute each. We would also use a step about 12 inches high and step up and down for 3 minutes, then take our pulse. Finally, there is a one mile run/walk (Not in any specific order though).

Here are my results:
Pushups (modified): 27
Crunches: 39
Pulse: 141
Mile: 13:44

I was surprised by the step test- it really got my heart rate up and I didn't think it would be that difficult. The mile run/walk was tougher, too. I feel like I ran for most it but my breaks were long- maybe longer than they needed to be. I was also running in a field and the terrain was uneven. There was no real track so I was running up a small hill and then walking down stairs. No whining though- it was better than running the hill by our home!

I'm really tired today, actually I've been more tired lately. While I'm glad that this challenge is pushing me, I'm a bit nervous about the next 12 weeks. I signed up for something that will challenge me and this is shaping up to be a real challenge, for sure!
