Most of the time now days I eat pretty slowly. I don't care if I'm the last person to leave the table. Often when I have extended family over and everyone but me is finished, I serve dessert and while they are eating, I finish my meal. But occasionally I slip back to my old habits and find myself wolfing down the food and absolutely unsatisfied with a normal meal or snack.
At Weight Watchers this week we discussed setting down the fork between each bite and often taking a sip of water between bites, too. Very good strategies. One person commented that it had helped her to establish the rule not to put more food in her mouth when she already had some. At the time I thought to myself that I would never do that. But guess what. I caught myself. I almost did it. Definitely that is a new rule for me. No additional eating while I'm eating!!
