blc 25 goals and fitness test results.

Sunday, May 04, 2014

as this round i am down as a medical floater my goals are not the usual, weight loss, exercise oriantated.this round my goals are to at least try to maintain and not put on(donīt need the extra stress of trying to loose).it is also my aim to be as encourageing and supportive as i can be to all my fellow fbi agents both new and old.i intend as much as possible to take part in the wec even though my scores donīt count to that of my team as it is the participation and teamwork which counts the most in my opion not so much the weight which seems odd to say in a weight loss challenge but to me that is the most important to give and get support.i have still been ill with my coughing etc,the dr given me a new spray and some more tablets in the hope i can be rid of it for the 20th may which is my pre op because of that and that i donīt want to over do things my exercise has been very low key but i am still doing some.i hopeing once i have my op and i am in rehab i will still feel like keeping up the support of my fellow blcer on my laptop.which i plan to take with me. anyway there are my goals this round.

for the fitness test i decided still to do it even though i wont be able to do the follow up 6 week test as hopefully i would have had my thigh and hip realignment along with my knee replacement done the same with the 12 week check up i will hopefully be in rehab but i thought by doing now i have a mass stab to go by when i am well enough to do them exercises again.the step challenge i decided not to do in the end as i am already having problems with my knee and donīt want to make it worse before the op. so my results

push ups(did wall) managed 45

crunches(done on stability ball so donīt have to bend me knee at such an angle i would when doing them on the floor)managed 36

walking mile(nordic walking) did in 14 minutes which may seem a long time to some but with my bum knee at the moment i thought was good.
so all in all proud of myself.i would like to wish all my fellow blcers a great challenge this round.thank to all who take the time to read this blog and a double thankyou if you take the extra time to reply.take care and keep smiling.

I think this is a great step forward. Lose or maintain but just don't gain used to be my moto. And move as much as possible. I love that you want to support your team. One day at a time!

    Great job of self-care!

My fastest mile so far is 19 minutes. You did great!

(And may I say thank you for breaking your post up into several paragraphs? Much easier to read than one long one. Thanks!)
