Accepting Myself and the EffYourBeautyStandar
ds campaign

Saturday, May 03, 2014

I have been following this beautiful plus size model known as Tess Munster. She is gorgeous! She is the spokesmodel for "eff your beauty standards".
Today as I shopped at walmart for a pair of khaki capris and a black polo for work, I realized that I am making myself depressed by worrying about what everyone else thinks about how I look. Today's society is all about your appearance...why? Beauty will get you nowhere if you are a horrible person. So I am wearing my size 3x capris and my size 2x black polo to work with a smile on my face. If I continue to worry about what everyone else thinks of me, then I will never be happy. I will always worry "Am I pretty enough?" or "Do I fit in?".
I am working on losing the weight but for now, I am a size 3x on bottom and a 2x on top and I accept that. I am beautiful just the way that I am.

congratulations for taking a big step in the right direction. Of course the opposite end of the spectrum isn't so great either. It is good to have some concern over how you one wants to be a slob. (I tend toward that end more because I don't really care enough about what people think.) It is good to find a balance: a place where we like ourselves and other people can accept us and beyond that, don't give it another thought!
