These coils of burning incense are offerings of the faithful seen in many Buddhist temples. The smoke from the incense is meant to carry prayers to heaven. I took this picture at the Man Mo Temple in Hong Kong Oldest Buddhist Temple

I think of her very often and I love when she send me butterflies (I "know" it is her way to send me hope, just like she did at the mountain in Hong Kong where she was cremated- picture below)

I have no way to describe how I feel/felt every May 1st since that phone call in 2009.
To this day, she is still my inspiration.

This month I will focus on CONTROL...
1) I need to drop a few pounds (I am 10lbs over - because of treats, celebrations and binge/stress related!) - Don't want to carry extra weight on a race day!
Strategy: Track and Stay on track. It works for me and I need to do it!
2) I need to complete my training for the Ottawa Marathon 25 May
Strategy: be mindful - following training plan but it is not the time to push my limit or I will risk an injury and not be able to do the championship...
3) I need some rest if I want to recover from intense training
Strategy: making it a priority. Sleep!
4) I need to calm down - my stress level is to the roof and at this point eating (binging) becomes an easy coping mechanism.
Strategy: CONTROL... Avoid trigger food, walk away from the kitchen and sip a soothing calming tea
I can do this...
I did way more than what I had set as a distance goal for the month of April. I was aiming for 200Km... I did 306.5Km/ 190 miles
Last year, same date, I was at 500km - 310 miles total.
Totay total distance for 2014: 872km/541miles of training! No wonder why I am tired!
May Distance Goal: no number - just do the Ottawa Marathon 25 May for the Canadian Forces Running Championship (this has been my focus for the last 4 months!!! ) ...
