Just like everywhere else across the South & East Coast, the weather has been awful this week. Inches and inches of rain followed by more rain. This is has nixed about 2 miles a day since I haven't been able to walk DD to school or walk at lunch time. But, as those with autoimmune diseases know, this kind of weather change causes a lot of good old fashioned pain. I got on the the treadmill Tuesday and tried to run and just couldn't physically do it. I walked instead, but couldn't do that last night either. Not sure how today will go...but my knee is already acting up.
So - today I have set a new interim goal /action plan: develop a portfolio of different exercises that I can turn to no matter which joint is acting up. I need to get going on selling my elliptical and getting a recumbent bike, and really considering buying one of those pedal machines for my arms so I can exercise even if even that can't work. And I still don't have anything for strength training at home. Sounds like a lot of money to shell out...but I don't know what my other options are. And, I can't just sit on my rear end and wait to feel better and just wish the weight away.
