...To spend a Monday then in a nice park on breezy spring day. Yesterday was our division bi-yearly meeting (kind of a state of the division meeting). Normally we'd all gather in the conference room with pop,water, fruit, and cookies and listen while the big cheese drone on. They try to make it lively..but you know how that goes.
Then afterwards we'd all trudge back to the cube farm and work the rest of the day.
But this time the cheeses wanted something different..something fun...something team building! So our event committee (of which I'm a part of), planned a BBQ in a park off site, then hired a company that does team building games. The meeting was in the morning with the BBQ at about 12:30. Well..we shopped for all the goodies on the weekend, then the committee (plus some volunteers..guys to carry stuff) met at the park at 9:30 Am to set everything up. We got all that done had a bit of time before everyone else showed up. So this is me..waiting in the park:
Good thing we had everything set up early..the meeting got over with early and people started showing up just before noon. We had burgers and hot dogs all cooked and ready for them. Everyone had a great time, we played games (hamster ball racing, relays, Angry Birds shooting contest, and a video game station). We had two teams...my team won 2 out of 3 events!
I didn't get to do any of them..I was busy making sure everyone had plenty of food and drink (water and Mt Dew..long story about the Mt dew
All in all...everything was great and we all had a great time..and the Big Cheeses were thrilled!

But then I crashed about 7 PM, I was so beat that I was in bed by 7:15. I slept for like 10 hours! I walked almost 12,000 steps (I do a little over 10K a day..but that's with doing the treadmill or the elliptical) just walking around the park.
I was over calories for the day but I'm OK with that. And my weight was up a few pounds (boy...was that freaking hot dog SALTY!). Today has been better. Good on calories so far and since the 4 Week Walking Challenge is over at work, I'm back on the elliptical this week (did the treadmill for 4 weeks). So I'm feeling good about everything right now.
So that was my yesterday...today has been quiet. I had a project to complete and release (DONE!) today, so I've been hiding in my cube.
