Thanks to Birgit (Houndlover) for inspiring me to go forward with the testing. As you can see, the huge spike came after eating the banana. This could be a life changing experience. As for the first time, I'll see the effect of foods on my blood sugar. Adjustments will come after I learn some more.

Here is the pic of my dinner. The protein is two eggs in broth. In the pic are mixed nuts (walnuts and almonds) and dates. I've just started adding 4 brazil nuts to the mix for selenium. Pickled turnips and carrots. Beets. Mixed berries with fermented chia. Home made 3 bean salad is my new favorite. I take 2 meals a day, both are pretty much the same with the change in protein. Mostly seafood for lunch and eggs for dinner. That's the current plan.

if you are controlling your blood sugar, 3-4 meals are recommended to avoid spikes, you ate a banana, a whole banana? usually the portion is half and if you combine carbs with protein the spike is less, banana with yogurt, banana with milk, banana with peanut butter. Normally the blood sugar test to see how food you eat is affecting you is 2 hours after you starting eating and the space between meals 4 to 5 hours, the reason the time to digest the food and the time the body metabolizes the nutrients and enter the blood stream.

In your case you had lunch at 12:30pm so the effect of your lunch was at 2:45 (111) then you had a banana and nuts at 1:00 so by 3:00 your blood sugar was also 111. Then dinner at 7:30 and at 9:45 you had 129. At 8:20 you had nuts and 4 dates a bit less than 2 later 10:05 your blood sugar was 143, which counts for the effect of the nuts and dates.
Poor fingers ... 14 tests. Try not to test in the same spot. Take care.

I just wanted to let you know that I am diabetic for several years with a A1C of 6.2, and after reading a lot about nutrition and blood glucose control I've learnt what I mentioned before,so I thought it might be useful emoticon

Interesting. I'm amazed at how long it stayed above 100, even hours after the banana.
