Be Fine In Deed

Sunday, April 27, 2014

" Don't conceive that fine clothes make fine men, any more than fine feathers make fine birds"George Washington

Ever go to church early on a Holy Day.? You are sitting in the pew you choose praying or meditating. The Mass is just about to start when a very dressed up family shows up. They all pile into your pew without a word or gesture. They continue to talk all through Mass, don't shake your hand or look at you for the Sign of Peace. They make it hard for you to even get in and out of the pew for Communion, Their fine clothes did not make them fine people in deed , word , or spirit.

The same thing happens at weddings , funerals and even baby baptisms . People get all dressed up for the occasion then act like fools , pick fights, snub others and the list go on and on. Good clothes can not change a man or women.

People with less seem to give more , care more and love more. They may not have good clothes , but they know how to do good deeds , and are fine people indeed.

We need to remember this lesson as we are getting smaller and losing weight. Our new clothes can't and won't change who we fundamentally are . Only we can do that by hard work ,kind gestures and opening your heart more when needed. Hugs Happiness and Healthy Living .

I have experienced exactly what you have written and in church. You have to wonder about how Christian they really are when they think they are so much better. I totally agree and always find the people that have the least are the one's that give of themselves the most!
Happy Sunday!

yep , I agree - my Mom always say that nothing is too old that a sewing machine cannot mend ! I have seen many people put on new clothes to snub the less fortunate and its saddens me - not everyone has the funds for new clothes - I still do hand me ups and downs with my sisters - even the bike I am riding as well as the gear - it was donated to me from my sister and I am grateful- works fine for me ! Hugs k
