Small Wins

Sunday, April 27, 2014

I have successfully completed 3 consecutive days of no added/refined sugar and tracking my calories. I found the calorie tracking continuing as a natural extension of those three day. I've tracked my calories 5 days in a row, and the scale showed me down one pound. I'm not tracking it until next weigh in to make sure, but . . . it is sure better than another pound up.

I feel like the 3 days of no sugar re-set my cravings for sweets. I still want them, but it has become more manageable. I am able to control the impulse, stop and consider and make a rational decision, not an emotional one. This has helped me in the past and I'm thankful it has seemed to help me again. I know it is not a long term fix and I may need to repeat, but I'm feeling a breath of fresh air in my dark corner.

Small wins - I'll take them. I know they lead to more small wins and starting an upward spiral instead of downward.

Great job, creating an upward spiral for yourself! Also the 1lb. Those are great baby steps, and baby steps can become Lifestyle Change.
