WHAT WE THINK, SAY AND DO

All day long, we have thoughts, we say words, we take action. Sometimes we think, say and do the wrong things. Sometimes we think, say and do the right things. However, we do have control over what we think, say and do. It’s our choice. It’s our decision. When we focus on God, He can help us to think, say and do the things that are pleasing to Him. He can help us think, say and do what will build others up and glorify His name.

Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we need help every day. Actually, we need help every moment. Our tendencies are to think negatively. Our tendencies are to be hard on ourselves and others. Our tendencies are to say things that we shouldn’t and sometimes take the wrong actions. Help us today, Lord, to remember each moment to live for You. Give us the strength, the courage and the desire to do only Your will. In Jesus name. Amen.

When we fix our minds on God, we will have better thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)

When we decide to stop copying the behavior of the world, God can change us to who He created us to be.

Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)

The words we say to others should be loving and kind – never bitter or rude.

Proverbs 16::24 “Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” (NLT)

Focus today: Let’s be sure what we do, what we say and what we think are pleasing to God – all day long.

I agree with you. So often we think the way we feel is brought on by others' actions or circumstances outside our control. But our thoughts, feelings and actions are TOTALLY controlled by us. We only have power over ourselves, and we give it up way too often.

Thank you for your kind words. God speaks to my heart and I write every morning. These words come from Him as I read His word and trust in Him to tell me what to write. He alone deserves the glory!

I pray you all have a safe and blessed day!

Frances

You don't know how much I NEEDED this today. Had some harsh words come out of my mouth last night for which I am very regretful of having said them. I prayed to do better so this is really helping me. Thanks very much.

COMMENTED ADDED Is this blog your own or have you copied it from somewhere else? It is a blessing wherever it came from but I am worried I credited it to you and not the original author. I feel I was possibly misled and I'm not sure I am a good judge of character. If this blog is indeed yours, I humbly apologize. I feel foolish.
