The day started out fairly nice with a brisk breeze. I walked
to church to do a little cleaning, then walked to the café to
meet my friends for coffee. I meandered home to find DH
still in bed. Well, if you come to bed instead of watching TV
until 3 in the morning, you would wake up before 8. Of course,
then he was in a hurry to eat breakfast and go to the garden
to plant onions (only a half hour, honest). Well, it ended up
being 2 1/2 hours and me trying to plant lettuce, spinach
and kohlrabi in winds gusting to 33 mph. (Try to block the
wind and it won't be so bad and plant the whole package).
HMMMM! Easy for him to say.
Finally home to do laundry and salvage part of the day
to sweep and mop the floors. (Not happening). After
lunch, he wanted to make bread and could you help me
please? Guess I won't get a nap today. Then it is time
for coffee break so let's go before we have to punch down
In the meantime, the fire department had been called to
a very large grass fire and I had opted to stay home. That
was fine until the tones went off for us a second time and
there are only 2 of us in town. We drove the city truck,
which is a no-no. It is never to leave the city. Ooops! And
of all things, we do meet up with a fireman who was waiting
for us and guess who gets to run the foam machine? Little
old me, who has NEVER, EVER been put in that position.
There are a dozen handles and more buttons and knobs
than you can shake a stick at. Very interesting but I
did manage it with a little coaching.
Finally home to milk the goat, turn the bread dough into
the pans and consider having a light dinner uptown.
Home to more laundry and baking the bread. The winds
have calmed just slightly, the floors still need to be swept
and mopped and tomorrow is another day.
We do not have church so I am declaring it an official
rest day unitl-----DH reminds me to sweep and mop the
floors. Isn't he a sweetheart! LOL!
Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!
