I have been studying different health angles (again) for the last couple of hours (hydrocolonics, detox foods) and it occurred to me: maybe this skin rash is meant to be the kick in the butt I NEED to get off the sugar and carbs (and whatever else is harming me). Maybe the extra weight, bloating, fungal/bacterial problems, stomach and headaches I have been having are just not enough to signal to me that I need a change. Which is pretty absurd if you think about it. We have one life, and one body, why should we live each day with sickness just because we like the taste of something or we are used to that lifestyle?
It is horrifying that I keep over indulging and continuing on this path that IS NOT WORKING FOR ME. If I continue I could end up with diabeties, obesity, thyroid problems, cancer the list goes on. The doctors don't say that to me because my blood pressure is not high and I am in my healthy BMI range, but only I can know what is best for myself. Doctors and society in general has such low expectations of what people are capable of anyway.

Someday I may have cancer or another unavoidable, possibly incurable disease, I would rather live the rest of my young, unaffected life choosing a healthy, energetic path. There are some things that I am privileged enough to be able to control; how much and what I eat, how much water I drink, and how much exercise I do. I have money, I have time, I do not have children and I live in resource rich country, why not do it now.

How I feel right now:
-heavy, bloated
-very tired
-acid reflux
-thirsty but not able to drink
-brain fog, headaches
-moody, irritable
-easily influenced
-idealistic (LOL)

What I need to do to make change:
1. drink at least 8 cups water
- make iced tea (sugar free)
-drink hot tea on breaks
-drink out of my water bottle routinely, even when home
-drink as much juice and green smoothies as possible to detox

2. Cut out refined sugars and reduce carbs
- stop baking for 1 month
-no granola
-no soy
-no flavored milks
-no fruit juice
- Dips and spreads only with veggies
-continue the 0 sugar rule at work (zero!)
- go for a walk or make plans for coming home (to cut out binges)
-or just take a nap (cut out binging out of exhaustion)

3. Cut significantly down on dried fruit and fresh fruit
-buy LOTS of greens
-stop buying dried fruit (too binge heavy)
-buy only green apples
-Plan meals ahead of time
