Love Yourself First

I was so happy to see this quote, I had to nab it as my main resolution for this year (and for all of the years it takes) is to love myself. The other day listening to an IOWL podcast I noted Renee Stephens advice saying that if you find it hard to say "I love myself" then start by saying "I forgive myself." Once you feel comfortable saying "I forgive myself" then start saying "I accept myself." After that you may find that it is much easier to say "I love myself."
I enjoyed "The Happiness Project" so much that I purchased Rubin's "Happier at Home." I have to admit that she repeats some of the stuff from the first book but I don't mind because it usually leads to new material. I think she just does it for those who didn't read the other book first. I was excited to learn that you can request a signed bookplate from her on her blog. Now I have bought an additional copy of "The Happiness Project" for a friend and I am hoping that she and I can collaborate on a happiness project together.
Speaking of which, one of my happiness resolutions was to make a new friend next month but I think that having four resolutions is maybe one too many for me. I like to stick with three. Instead of making a new friend I will make a conscious effort at deepening a friendship (without making a resolution to do so). As a reminder to myself my other resolutions are to take a class, act the way I want to feel, and be creative.
Not sure how creative this is, but backstory first I gave my grandmother my favorite wedding picture. She passed away and I don't know what happened to the photo. I have heard that the people who took the photos keep copies of all the pictures they take. So next month I am going to go see if I can get a copy of that particular picture and then put it in a nice frame for us.
I am getting my first ever massage on Tuesday and I am nervous/excited about that. I am also getting a Reiki healing. That reminds me I need to learn more about what that entails. I like to be somewhat prepared. I hope you are all enjoying the spring! I love getting out there and gardening or riding my bike. Take care.
