Pop Up (& HATE pop up ads!)

Popping In for a Quick Update!

- BF is currently at the doc. It has been a long week for us, definitely for him, with this mysterious fever/rash thing. Every night I swear we’ve had that moment where we’re like… “Is this bad enough for the hospital?” type thing. Hopefully the doc can give him some answers today. I have been with him almost 7 years and never seen him like this!

- We discovered we have mouse visitors in our kitchen. Luckily I haven’t seen them with my eyes but they are definitely there. This has led me to not cooking all week because I found some of their “presents” in and around the stove and in the cabinet with most of my cookwear. I don’t think they are all gone yet, fighting the urge to scour the entire kitchen with bleach and throw out everything in our pantry. Our landlord has been BEYOND useless throughout this whole thing. But I know I can’t eat pretzels or eat out like this forever.

- Went to the doc and she was a bit concerned about everything I mentioned. I am to keep an eye on myself and if anything drastically changes I am supposed to let her know. Until then, I am trying a supplement medication to the one I am on and if I have the same experience in 3 months, we’ll have to have a slightly invasive look around inside. Just wanted to try one more thing before we go that route.

- Work has been crazy this week. I’ve had 3 days of training classes and playing catchup around that. My steps count is down and I’m trying not to eat so much on the fly. Definitely not what I expected for this week but I guess sometimes things don’t go as planned. I’m also having one of those days where my stomach is some bottomless pit and keeps trying to tell me that it is hungry. Cool down stomach!

Have a lot of stuff to get done this weekend – cleaning, errands, prep for a big week next week with out of town guests and the wedding my bf and I are BOTH in lol. Guess I should probably double check that my dress zips! But really I just want my bf to feel better and for these mice to find their real homes outside of my kitchen. Hope you have all had a great week and have an even better weekend!

ps - I am getting way more pop up ads than normal on spark. I thought reputable sites don't do that anymore? SO lame! Makes me a bit upset! I know they want to keep the site free but pop ups?! come on! That just pushes people away! (trust me, I'm in the business!)

Totally agree on the pop ups - they are distracting and I've opted out, but they still come up

Totally agree with you on the pop up ads. They are making me nuts!!

I am so glad that you seem to be on the right track with your doctor. I hope that this helps work everything out and eliminates the need for anything more invasive.

As for your BF, is the rash really painful? If it is, is it in a band around his torso, perchance? If it is then you might want to have him go to the doctor to see if it is shingles. They are HORRIBLE! My husband had it and it took weeks to disappear, but the doctor was at least able to give him something to ease his pain. If not, he might just be super sensitive at the moment. I get that way during allergy season. It helps me to remove all scented everything from my life...no perfume or cologne, unscented soaps, shampoos, dryer sheets and detergent, etc. for both myself and my husband. This tends to help things clear up for me in a matter of days. Hope he is able to figure out what is wrong!

If you use Firefox as your browser, you can download something to get rid of the ads and popups - ask Boss61, I don't remember all the steps. But it works great!!!

Re the mice, do you have a friend with a cat? Borrow the cat for a week or two - might catch some mice, but will most likely scare them away with the kitchen starting to smell like cat. (This is why I've almost always had cats, they really do a good job with mice and rats.)

Hope the BF feels better soon!

Urgh, pesky pests are THE WORST! i've had a few in my time living in the city & I can totally relate to the anxiety & disgust they produce. hope you find a solution soon!

I really hope both you & your BF get all the health stuff figured out soon too...

Keep plugging along girl & have an amazing prep weekend & wedding time!!
