I am SO READY to start running again! The temperature in Chicago has warmed up and it is so, so nice to be outside, but for now all I can do is walk the dog. Perhaps I (and my dog as well) should be thankful for even that!
Two weeks after gallbladder surgery (yes, it was laparoscopic!) I was told I could start "walking", so four weeks later I think running is still out of the question. I still get a bit of pain. I cant sleep on my right side which is the normal way I sleep.
I've started to consider that when the pain is the worst, I should consider what I last had to eat since my body is learning how to process food in a new way. I had chili last week and my husband had to point out (we had it twice) that I complained about my stomach after about the same amount of time had passed.
I can't just think of food in terms of losing weight or eating well for my overall health. I never realized how much food could impact how you feel, I would say before I ever had problems with my gallbladder. It's been quite eye opening!
So for now, running is out, but not for good. For that I am very thankful. : )
