Giving myself a break for a couple of weeks

The wedding is 2 weeks from Saturday, and company starts arriving a week Thursday.

I'm getting stressed trying to get everything ready, and not sleeping well. When I can't sleep, I get up and eat. I joined a challenge to burn 3500 calories each week, and have been trying to have a 500 calorie/day deficit.

It just isn't working right now, so I'm giving myself a break until things quiet down after the wedding and company has all gone home.

The most important thing is to enjoy the wedding and the company, not get over-stressed... right?

    Gail I agree that this is the time to step back and relax a little. You have a busy couple of weeks coming up. Stressing over every little thing will just make it worse. Just relax and enjoy the time with family and friends at this glorious time. The wedding will be beautiful and so will you. You will get plenty of exercise just being active with friends and wedding preparations. You are well attuned to healthy eating and it is doubtful that you will go over your dietary plans and if you do it is not the end of the world. You will get back to your routine after all the excitement of the wedding. Just enjoy this wonderful occasion. Hugs

    I think that you are very wise to do this. If you are relaxed and healthy and happy, you will enjoy your company and the wedding that much more. You are so disciplined and so aware of your healthy lifestyle, that you will fall right back into it when the wedding is behind you.

    RIGHT ! ! Stressing will solve nothing. Enjoy the company and all the wedding moments.

    Fill up on the atmosphere, friendships, and love in the air.

    But so you will not beat yourself up later.. It might be a good idea to do mindful nutrition consumption. Eat and enjoy thoughtfully.

    You are so right! It's funny but I too have been having trouble sleeping. I blamed it on being exhausted. We will be fine. We are healthier than we were when we got started and a couple of weeks will not take us off track!

    That IS the most important thing; I am like you in that I often have trouble sleeping when I get stressed. It is so aggravating! Yes, indeed, try to relax and just enjoy every minute of the wedding!
