Last night at Bible study I felt like I was being attacked for my decision to have surgery on my feet. More than one person opened their mouth. I will not names since it is not a Christian thing to do. But I know from the conversation that people don't know the amount of pain I deal with compared to them. I have chosen to forgive them and to just tell them it is between God me and the doctors.

I can't believe that people would upset you like they did. They should be supportive and understanding and at least respectful of your decision. I pray that God comforts you through this time and for your total healing.

I'm sorry that people in a religious setting decided that they had to judge you. I just keep thinking of all the times Jesus said to not do that. Bless you for making a wise decision and I hope all goes well for you.

It is your decision so I don't understand anyone judging you.

Jenny, you have the right idea -- forgiving them, and gently reminding them that it's between God, you, and the doctor. I wish they were supportive of you instead of critical, but their spirit and attitude is between them and God. We're praying for you.

Sometimes people don't understand because it's not something they have to go through.

Only YOU can make this decision and can't imagine why they would feel they could judge you for what you feel is best for you. Instead of judging I would think a church family would be asking, "What can I do to help you?" At least that is what I would expect from my church family.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis it started in my feet or that is what I say!! All I know is the Pain was excruciating, and NO one should tell you what to do! I always say to, DO not tell me what to do until you have walked in my feet for even an hour!!

Although I have never had Plantar Fasciitis, I know it is one of the most painful foot problems!! I only hope you can get help, I remember when my feet were hurting the worst, and seeing everyone else walking fast... You do what You have to do!!!

I have no clue why others would attack you to do surgury on your feet. I guess you belong to a religion that doesn't believe in doctor's care. I believe that God has blessed doctor's to learn and help us. Do what feels right between you and God and rest in His love! Blessings and emoticon

Luke was a physician. Jesus was the great healer. Jesus put a wad of mud on a man's eyes to heal him. That's a poltice. God provided gifts of knowlege to individuals that gives them the ability to use those skills to heal certain afflictions. I'm praying for your complete recovery. To NOT have this done is like holding water in your hands in the middle of a drought and NOT take a drink. God provided the means. Accept the gift and be better soon.

I am so sorry that you felt judged for your decision to have surgery. emoticon

I don't know the background story but either way, I think it's irrelevant. It's your body, your decision.

The only way I could see myself speaking up about another woman's decisions in her life is if it would have a negative impact with her relationship with God. But I can't fathom how surgery would do that? Maybe they were just trying to help but it came across the wrong way. I like to think that people have good intentions and give them the benefit of a doubt.

I pray that God heals you physically and emotionally, and may the Holy Spirit guide you in whatever decision you make.

Sometimes it is the nature for people to offer advice where it isn't needed or wanted. Having an incurable disease, I get advice all the time on how to "cure myself". My standard answer is "thanks, I will have to check that out", and then I just continue on with what I have been doing.

Good luck with your surgery. I am sure that you made a decision based on what you know is right.

God Bless!

I'm sorry you are feeling judged for your choice have surgery. I'm not completely up on the back story of what's up with your feet but I feel like sometimes people project their own issues onto others. Your friends should want you to be free from pain and suffering and I'm sure that surgery will help your quality of life. Ultimately you have to do what is best for you and forget what the Negative Nellies are saying. We've got your back! emoticon
