Fried egg on burgers

Thursday, April 24, 2014

We were in Chicago for a few days babysitting for our Grandsons. They were both in school on Monday so we decided to have lunch at Kuma's Corner (which has been on Diners, Drive In and Dives). We decided to try their signature burger: the Kuma Burger. They do offer a smaller burger as a lunch special so we went for that one. It is a burger with bacon, cheddar cheese and a fried egg. It was delicious!
The next day we went to Revolution Brewing with our son in law. They offer a farm burger which is a burger with roasted beets, arugula, horseradish cream and a fried egg on it. I did eat that one without the roll and with a side of caesar sale with the dressing on the side (and I did not eat the croutons). I am really liking fried eggs on my burgers. I am going to try a healthier version at home. I will make it with a lean turkey zucchini burger.

Interesting. As I don't like fried eggs it's not something that appeals to me but DH would love it!

OMG! Never thought of an egg on a burger, but what the heck, you do steak and eggs, right! (Well, I don't eat it myself, but it's on menus).

BATCHICK: I could find a million and one reasons/ways to eat peanut butter (nuts about it) but never woulda thought of putting it on a burger! OK, that's one that's going down in my "gotta try this" book!
