So, I got a sparkmail last week regarding a couch to 5K challenge the Calling All Canadians team was doing. Obviously, joining was optional.
I opted IN!
We are doing this together to cheer each other on, be motivational, and share our goals, progress and sometimes even pain.
Yesterday was my day 1.
5 minutes brisk warm up followed by 8 repetitions of jog 1 minute then walk 1.5 minutes.
Seemed fairly easy in the beginning. I made it to nearly 20 minutes before I started feeling the side stitches, but that was likely from eating too soon rather than from the breathing. I was really focused on that this time.
Tomorrow will be my day 2. I'm too sore from leg day on Monday and yesterday's run so more a rest day. Maybe arms and core later, but I'm pretty beat.
I am really looking forward to doing this challenge with the team because it feels really good having that kind of support and knowing that you're not alone and that 5K really isn't that bad.
The sense of awesomeness there is amazing, so I'm pretty certain I could keep this up!
