2 days in a row 5 am gym classes

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Really trying to fit the exercise in this week. It's nice when getting out of class now at 6 am, it's light out. Hopefully next week things will be calmer with 3 days off a week, I can find some room to breath in between. This week has been extra tight cuz we had a doctors appointment on Monday, Scott had to come to as well. So to make up for it. He has to go into work 1 hour early for the remainder of the week. Sucks pretty bad when you already have to commute two hours a day. We both went to bed last night at 8:15. Sun down? Ok good lets go to sleep! How is it only Wednesday?? I wish it was Friday morning.

Eating has been pretty BLAH. It's so funny when talking to the doctors about meds and food. It's like everything I hear online is wrong when i talk to the doctors. Can I eat lunch meat? Online NO! Doctor, sure as long as it's a reputable company! Doctor said I could take sudafed, I have been drudging thru this spring allergy season sudafed free. I still feel like I should continue my drudge. I asked about the weight gain, of course they said 15-25 lbs. The nurse practitioner said she gained 45-50 with all 3 of her kids lol Ahhh she made me feel better, cuz I am not gonna be one of those cute 15-20 lb gainers, I can just tell u that. I will TRY but I have never been very good at hitting targets and outlook already looks bad. Hence 5 am gym classes! They watch the weight gain more to make sure you arent putting on a ton of water weight for other reasons. Then of course they start pushing the blood tests. All the new ones can tell u babies gender at 10 weeks or later. Yet I doubt they are covered by insurance. I think we will just opt out, we seem pretty low risk both us being from pretty polar opposite family backgrounds. It will be what it will be. Everything else looks good, all my bloodwork. They told me again from hearing my hr they could tell I workout. I love when they tell me that emoticon

Today is my last day at the healthfood store. I am sad, yet too exhausted to care right now. Gotta save money for the future and can't do it at that job.

Some doctors are less strict than others. Personally I agree with you and would not eat lunch meat nor take OTC meds unless I absolutely had to. The bottom line is that whatever you eat and whatever you take your baby is having it too. I would eat a wide variety of healthy foods because your baby will have less chance of having allergies. Don't make the mistake of not eating peanuts or peanut butter. You always have excellent meals when you eat on plan. You eat better than most people I know. All those healthy fruits, seeds, nuts, and veggies you love will be perfect. Gaining too little weight is just as bad as too much. I think 15 pounds sounds rather low. I only gained 7 and ended up with a preemie. I think the fact that you eat well and exercise will really help you and the baby.

I'm so proud of you for looking out for what's best for you and baby -- I think sometimes it's really easy to get fantatical about what's good and what's bad when you read everything on the internet. I like what the other spark friend said: do what's best for you whether that be more or less exercise, diet changes, etc. I read an article this morning about how we do the best we can when we are mothers and anyone who says they know what they are doing are liars. It was a cute article...I'll find it again and maybe send it to you via fb. Much love to you!

You need to do what makes you and baby healthy. If that means exercising and eating more, so be it. If it means less exercise and a bit more weight gain, so be it.

And yes, just one job would be good, wouldn't it?

So do what makes you feel healthiest.

I gained 50 lbs. with Allison, and 30 with Brenna. After I lost some of it, I gained/lost 25 with the last 3 kids. So I still have that last 50 to lose from having my first. But it's been an amazing 16+ years of being a mother, even with the extra padding. Remember to just do your best, you can't be perfect all the time, and you will do fine in the end. You know a lot about nutrition so don't sell yourself short. :)

So exciting!! I gained 70 with my first and 50 with my 2nd. I was also 20 lb higher at the beginning of my 2nd preg, so I ended up at 220 after each of them. The first I ate everything in sight, the 2nd I was much more careful, worked out, tracked calories and I STILL gained that much. The body will gain what the body will gain.
