A1C 6.2

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

OK, my A1C just came in at 6.2. A little over reference range, but I'll live.

The last test I had in Jan was 5.9.

Since I've just ordered Carb blocker (white kidney bean extract), I'll give that a try and stepping up my intake of cinnamon. I think June 1 will be a good time to take another test to see if I could lower my blood sugar using these supplements as I don't want to cut back on the carbs too much. I don't do grains but still enjoy fruits and root vegetables which contain carbs.

Thanks to Birgit (Houndlover) for the tip on using ReliOn from Walmart for this $10 test. I mailed it in on Apr 14 and got the results in the email yesterday.

Glad you got your test result back so quickly. I still have not gotten mine, wonder if it got lost in the mail.
I hope the supplements work, you could also consider Glycosolve (berberine).

I did not think for a long time that I would be willing to give up most fruit but now it's a special treat and actually I enjoy it more when I have it. For me wanting it every day was still part of my old sugar addiction. Not saying that's the case for you, we all respond so differently.

I'm glad you've been able to get info...Birgit is a wealth of knowledge!

Now that you know where you stand, you can do what you need to get that number down!

I actually had a test kit that gave you a readout at home. I don't see it available anymore. Not that big a thing to send it off, but still an extra step.

A1c is a measure of your blood sugar over the past month. Gives a better picture than just spot checking.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm happy if you're happy.
