Foot diagnosis

Monday, April 21, 2014

Well my diagnosis is both good and not so much. I was very nervous as it has been a painful couple of weeks. I do currently have gout in both feet as well as damage to the plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendon on both feet. My feet are not aligning correctly when I walk and it is placing undo stress on these tendons. I also have bone spurs that the dr does not seemed to concerned about at this time.

He basically says the difficulties that I am having are tied to the tummy troubles i have been experiencing the last 3 years. Until i can get the IBS and Gastroparisis under control..I will continue to have foot pain. He recommends that I do non weight bearing exercise (aka stationary bike) which is the one form of exercise I despise.

I was very saddened that he recommends that I do not continue with my walks. I love the walking despite the pain! I am still trying to absorb all of this junk my body is battling and how i am going to manage. I have a few weeks of school left and then I will have 3 months to figure something out.

I did Google these topics and did not find too much to support the specialist claims. I do know however the chiropractor said the same thing. I guess at this point i need to listen to my body and move forward.

OUCH!! You must be very uncomfortable.
What about doing chair exercises? They may help without using your feet but you will use your legs. It may be something to consider.

if you don't want to give up on walking completely, try water walking. the water helps support your body while making the walking a little harder.

I think about the only thing I can say is exactly what you've already figured out . . . listen to your body!

So sorry!
