My taste buds are broken

Monday, April 21, 2014

After no candy, except one slip up, all of Lent my taste for chocolate has changed. I have had several pieces emoticon trying to enjoy my candies. mI have had a Reese Egg, a few jelly beans, and a Snickers Egg. They were good, but honestly I could have done without.

I got more joy from my first cup of black coffee after Easter Vigil. Out of a hand full of mixed nuts, with dryied fruit, and chocolate chunks.

It was weird. I loved and enjoyed ever bite of dh cake the first and second slice. By third - sixthe slice (small slices) I was over the cake. I have three more bdays to go this year. I just hope I enjoy the first slice for each kids bday...LOL

Anywho, off to finish homework with the kids.

I gave up all sweet items except sugar free popcicles, for Lent. Now everything tastes too sweet and I can take it or leave it. Isn't that great?

I find that a lot of the sugary old fashioned candy no longer appeals to me (the stuff I liked as a kid). I definitely go more toward the dark chocolate these days.

I fought the urge and won. So glad I did. As I work out more intensely, I don't want to eat the food I used to eat. Spend so much work on my workouts that I hate to undo it!

When you get that stuff out of your system and you get real food then your body adjusts to it and when you put that poison back in your body will let you know that it does not like it. Plus it tastes obnoxiously sweet too.

I can relate. I hadn't eaten a Reece's for a long time (I love PB and chocolate and was afraid I was get major cravings if I had "just one") I went about 2 months avoiding them when I tried a mini PB cup again and it was NOT the same! I don't like them at all anymore. (PB M&M's however, I still love those.) I kinda like that I don't like them now. emoticon
