Doing pretty good with the walks. Happy Easter

Thursday, April 17, 2014

So I am really trying to get my 4+ miles in everyday. Some days I do achieve that goal, some days I am a bit short. I just keep trucking along as best I can. Had my 6 month appointment with my Endocrinologist this week and the small growths on my thyroid have not enlarged so he will do the next ultrasound in the office and keep an eye on my blood work. He is keeping an eye on this because my sister had thyroid cancer.
The Rheumatologist I saw last week and he did some blood work again. Seems I may be starting to show signs in my BW of a flare-up from Lupus and Osteoarthritis. Of course he and I knew I was having trouble for the last few months but sometimes the BW doesn't show much for a while after I complain about swelling and pain. I am just getting older, he said, and will show signs earlier than when I was younger. Sounds a little BSing to me but who am I to say anything when he has keep me going for so many years.
So I hope this finds everyone healthy and working out regularly?? OX to all.
Happy Easter to everyone!

Yeah, my doc said something one time and I said Yeah, I know, I'm old and fat and he said he never said that, but in so many words he did! Phooey! I always get, well you are a diabetic and.... Not every issue I have is because of the diabetes! Doctors! What are ya gonna do!?! Hope all of your issues continue to do well and keep you walking! 4 miles almost daily is quite an accomplishment! Good for you!

Sounds like you are doing okay! Today after going to Mexico for dental work, I doubled my steps and my poor feet hurt lots. Between the Fibro and Neuropathy they don't have much of a chance when I walk too much! Don't know if I will ever get up to a 4 mile walk but 2.5 is a great distance for me!! Hoping your BW clears and the Lupus and OA stop their flares.!!

So glad you can make it out to walk, that is great! The weather has been horrible here, cold with strong winds and flurries, so I have walked little outside, mostly just shopping.
My blood work never showed anything until six months into a flare. It was really a useless indicator for me. My rheumy would say I am in remission and yet the damages kept coming. Doesn't seem like you need to get five joint replacements because you are in remission, I'm just saying!!
My sister wants to come in for three days over Easter, but they are predicting a snowstorm for her area. She lives on a farm and her little car wouldn't make it through a lot of snow. Keeping fingers crossed they are wrong.
Hope you have a great Easter!

Sounds as if you are doing a great job, Teri! Four miles a day is a good workout. I pray that your health does not desert you too. Hope that the nodules on your thyroid are nothing threatening! emoticon

Happy Easter to you too! My doc uses that phrase too about getting older. Once I told him a can still plant my foot where the sun don't shine if he keeps telling me that! LOL! He laughed, but hasn't said it since. Hehe! HUGS!
