One More Day

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

In what has been a stressful week. I didn't get to blog yesterday but we had some good news...hubby took that job he interviewed for. They actually called him a day early for it. They DO know that if his old job recalls him, he'll be going back to that job. This job is for a small contracting company. Hubby will be on salary rather then hourly. He'll be a Project Manager/Engineer for them. It's about $1000 less a month and there are NO bennies at all (no medical, retirement, vacation, etc). We can survive on the salary (combined with my paycheck). But it's going to be tight. emoticon And I'll be losing a bit of my pay if/when I have to pick up medical for us though my job. Hubby was paying like $80 a month fro great medical...I'll be paying $260 a month for so so medical. emoticon But at least we'll be covered.

As to what's up at his old job...still the same. The Union is working on getting recalls done for the union members. It's just a waiting game right now. Hubby talked to his old boss today but I don't know yet what was said. Hubby is at his new job, getting everything set up. Oh and he told them he'd be gone for two weeks for the Hawaii trip. Since the new job has no vacation..it's a good thing his still getting his salary from the old job. emoticon

But all the stress has NOT help with my eating. I over did it again last night..this time with popcorn with butter on it. So I was up 4 pounds this morning. I'm so hoping it's from the salty popcorn! Dinner wasn't bad calorie wise. And I did get my 60 mins in the gym done yesterday and today. Tonight I'll do a Xbox work out. I did one on Monday too. I'm trying for 3 Xbox workouts a week. emoticon

We love our new phones. I'm still trying to get everything setup on them. emoticon

Talked to my daughter, seems my grandson is having some problems. He's not talking to her so grandma will be calling him on Fri to talk to him. Maybe he'll open up to me.

I'm off on Friday..it's a Holiday for me (company wide). I have a Dr appt in the morning for the bug bite (or whatever it is) on my boob. It's almost all gone..but I'll get it checked since I have the appt. emoticon

OK...that's about all I have today. Happy Hump Day everyone!!

So glad to hear that your hubby has a job! Medical insurance is one of those necessary evils, you have to have it but it is expensive!

Have a great weekend!
Blessings,

DEBRA

That's great news ! I'm glad your hubby was able to find a job quickly. I know this isn't an ideal situation, but this company sounds accommodating. which IS really helpful.

Glad to hear at least Chuck has another job without extended unemployment. But hat dip in pay has got to be hard. When I retired, unexpectedly, our income took a huge dump, and we felt like we were kicked in the gut with expenses. Good news is , like Calen, we adjusted and now we don't notice. emoticon Good luck with Caleb. Grandma's usually make the best confidants!

So what's the chance the old job will call Chuck back before he starts the new one? Or did he start already? Can REALLY identify with you about losing the $1000 a month. We went through that when Arn had to change jobs six or seven years ago. It's been a real struggle. But hang in there.

Sorry to hear Caleb is having problems. Hope he will tell his grandma all about it...

Hugs,
Calen~
