Day 35 v5.0

Oh...where to begin? My brain is a swirl and it just doesn't seem to want to land on something specific so I'm just going to roll with it and see where it takes me!
I am in the process of writing a blog post on my other blog about how numbers don't lie because I totaled up my miles this past weekend (I was simply looking for how many miles I have on my running shoes) and it was a little eye opening...and not in a good way! I knew I'd been slacking, but seeing it in ink really highlighted just how much. My average miles each week are about 8-10. I went into this year wanting to PR in the 5k, 10k, and half marathon distances (because, I mean, how freaking cool would it be to PR in every single major race distance in a single year?!?!?) so I wanted to spend the first quarter of the year focused on speed and losing weight. Which I have done close to nothing for on either front. *sigh*
Marathon training and my "diet" start on Monday.
The full moon yesterday was pretty freaking awesome, wasn't it?!? Did you get a chance to check it out...it was SO BRIGHT!
How in the world can it possibly be the middle of April already?!? Easter is SUNDAY for crying out loud...I can't seem to slow the pace down at all and am totally and completely unprepared for the holiday.
It's my oldest son's 26th birthday today!! I don't know how I have a 26 year old when I'm only 36 myself...LOL
Speaking of oldest son, he's in the Air Force and has wanted to be stationed in Japan since he first joined back in 2006. It has been at the top of his preferred locations lists every. single. year. Just for the record he was stationed in Germany the first 3 years and then has been in Los Angeles the rest of the time. Well, yesterday he got his wish - he will be leaving for Japan in June of this year!!! I, of course, have mixed emotions about it because I'm going to really miss him and my DIL while they are gone (3 years)!!! But I'm SO THRILLED for them and this new adventure they get to embark on. Additionally, he is training to do medivac stuff (there's a long complicated name for it that I can never remember even though he's told me five hundred and forty-three times) so he is really excited about that. It will be the first he is actually working on a plane or helicopter even though he's in the Air Force! HA!
So much stuff going on...I'm just trying to ride the roller coaster these days! Eating is decent, workouts are decent, I'm just plugging along! :-)
Sorry for the randomness...it's just where I'm at!
