Lots going on for me right now. Trying to plan my trip back to America
around several different things..basically I just need to pick the dates and go. Will get to attend a multi-class high school reunion, a concert for one of my all time favorite bands with a group of amazing friends, my dad's birthday, possibly taking on another certification for group fitness while there (Insanity-from P90X)
and hubby and I are going to run the VA Beach 1/2 marathon
on Labor Day weekend before we head back to Oz! Never mind the pure wonderful pleasure of seeing my family again after a year and a half, and hugging my precious mom!!!!
So I am covering at a few gyms, work has really picked up for me and I love it...the most recent cover I started at has offered me a job as their GFM. The owners and I hit it off right away as we are about the same age, have been in the gym industry for about the same amount of time and have the same values and beliefs. It is closer to home and more money. So why have I not jumped at the opportunity yet??? Because it has taken me months to get things the way I love them..I have a great class schedule as well as taking on covers when I want, but able to turn them down too...set my own hours, and I love the people I work with at my present gym. It is a dilemma...I have made the decision that if certain things that I ask for at this other gym are not granted I won't take the job, as in the opportunity to keep my classes at the other gyms as well as continuing to take on covers. It is my passion, I love to teach at several gyms...it is not about the money it is about the variety and keeping things fresh and I love the other gyms I teach at as well.
Ordered a new heart rate monitor last week. One of my co-workers was celebrating her 30th and we decided to chip in and buy her one, I had been considering one but had not really done my research on them...so we were under the gun to get hers ordered to make sure we got it in time and well I saw one I liked and the price was reasonable so I said ok that one (I really wanted the one we ordered for her but didn't think it was appropriate to get the exact same one)...so when they come in and I see the booklet for all the options I kicked myself for not spending the extra 20bucks for the better model...oh well, this one does pretty well, gives my heart rate and calories burned and lets me know how long I worked in my zone etc...I am enjoying it, and I like that it lets me know actual calories burned... So that one for gym workouts and my nike for when I run..I should never have to question what I burn or how hard I am working again :)
It is Easter weekend coming up...no classes on Friday, day off :) first one in weeks...last week I taught 17 classes in one week!!! Just have BodyBalance on Saturday, off Sunday of course and teaching Pump on the Monday, it is a public holiday here so we are on limited time table. the following Friday is Anzac day
(similar to Memorial day) and we are again closed. So I will have to allow time for exercise those days as I have become quite dependant on teaching as my workout. Since the half marathon is looming I believe it is time to start our training program. I did buy some compression socks to help keep my calves warm and loose to hopefully prevent my achilles issue from coming back.
Well that was just a managerie of things in my life...thankful my hubby has finished his play as it was time consuming and we didn't have a lot of time together...looking forward to the Easter weekend to play catch up, maybe kayak if the weather allows.
Hope you all have a great week and a wonderful Easter!
