I have so much going on right now. I don't think I've ever been this overwhelmed or pulled in so many different directions. BUT, it's all good. We're working super hard to take our family and careers in a whole new direction. I can't wait to share the details! Hopefully, by May.
In the meantime, I previously mentioned how I love stepups because I feel an immediate difference from doing them. I feel stronger functionally for walking, climbing, and hiking . The problem? I get so nauseous doing them and I get super sore the next day. Like debilitatingly sore. Against my trainer's encouragement, I backed down to 3 sets of 10 (from 3 of 20). I still got nauseous and sore but it was just a normal soreness. I finally did it. Yesterday I did my 3 sets of 10 and dare I say, it was a *little* easy. I use the term "easy" loosely but really? I should've done 12 or maybe even 15.
I'm super pleased.
Unfortunately, I found my next exercise nemesis. I don't know what you call them...maybe ab extensions? You sit on a bench and lift your knees and push your heels out. Oy. Those make me want to toss my cookies. Yesterday, I got outside very late and walked my remaining steps, like 8500. This was after being hulled up at my desk all weekend doing taxes (7 hours) and catching up on work.
It was heavenly being outside.
I dropped the boy off for an activity I didn't need to be there for and walked about 2.5 miles all around downtown. Then I crossed the main drag to the walking park where they have a walking track and all kinds of exercise equipment for the park. I just kept lapping around. At the top of the loop, I did 1 set of each: stepups, ab extensions, pushups, and tricep dips. I did that until I finished 3 sets each. There was a piece of equipment that simulated those ab extensions but made it even harder by using all of your core, arms, and shoulders.
Holy 80s batman, that outfit is FAB.
Yeah, that kicked my butt. So much so, that I only got 2 sets on that. The third set was completed on a bench.
I walked it off and felt great.
Great things are happening people! It's coming with a lot of stress right now so it's more important than ever to focus on healthy choices and daily exercise. Besides, my trainer changed our workout day which is fine but I couldn't go last week or this week. Keeping myself motivated is the current challenge. My schedule should be adjusted by next week so it's all good. Always.
